Hello Colleagues,

 

We're planning our Open Access Week programming (October 20-26) and would love your help identifying potential speakers from outside our own institution. We're specifically looking for researchers who are passionate advocates for Open Access and can speak compellingly about its impact on their work.

 

What we're seeking:

• Active researchers (faculty, postdocs, or research scientists) rather than librarians or administrators
• Strong OA advocates who can share personal experiences with open publishing, data sharing, or open science practices
• Engaging speakers who can connect OA principles to real research outcomes and broader scholarly impact

 

Ideal topics might include:

• How OA publishing has expanded their research reach or collaborations
• The role of open data/materials in advancing their field
• Experiences with preprints, open peer review, or alternative publishing models
• Challenges and benefits of transitioning to open practices

 

If you know researchers at your institution or elsewhere who fit this description, we'd be grateful for suggestions. Please include their name, institution, field, and a brief note about why they'd be compelling speakers.
